One year from Proprietatea Fund stock market listing

Proprietatea Fund (FP) and the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Wednesday organize a press conference on the occasion of the first anniversary from the listing of FP on the stock market.

proprietatea fundTempleton Emerging Markets Group Executive Chairman Mark Mobius, Templeton Emerging Markets Group Executive Vice President and FP Fund Manager Greg Konieczny and US Ambassador in Bucharest Mark Gitenstein will be attending the conference.

The Proprietatea Fund shares have been traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since January 25, 2011, after five years from their having become operational as joint-stock-company, in December 2005.

FP owns stakes in 83 private and state-owned companies, a significant component of the portfolio being represented by the electricity, oil and gas sectors.

The Fund was created to compensate the former owners whose properties were abusively confiscated during the Communist regime, in the cases in which the restitution in kind is no longer possible. The FP listing on the stock market was initiated after the company Franklin Templeton took over the Fund's administration, in September 2010.

In the past 52 weeks, 139,781 transactions with FP shares took place, amounting to 5.239 billion lei (approximately 1.21 billion euros).
